Summer Research Program in Sustainability

Pitt Students!

Get paid over the summer to do research in sustainability. If you are interested in going beyond classroom curriculum, developing your own ideas, and working independently on hands-on research all while getting paid…this program is for you!

Application and Program Information

Open to all Pitt undergraduate and master's students in all fields and majors 

2025 deadline to apply was February 17, 2025. Please check back in January 2026 for summer 2026 projects, advisors, and application.

Intended for Pitt undergraduate and master's level students interested in gaining hands on experiences related to the broad topic of sustainability.  ALL majors are eligible to apply.  The 10-week program runs May 12 - July 18, 2025. See full summer calendar below.

Program Policies

  • The SRP is open to Pitt undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Students are required to work 40 hours a week on their project.
  • Students are allowed to take only 1 course over the summer with program approval.
  • No vacations will be permitted during the 10-week program.
  • Students will be awarded a $5,000 stipend.
