Sophia Lex is an Environmental Engineer at GAI Consultants, where she works on water treatment, sewer and sanitation infrastructure, and wastewater related environmental compliance. At Pitt, she combined civil and environmental engineering with community focused sustainability work through MCSI, helping lead outreach for food sustainability and security programming. Lex is a former community engagement intern with Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation.
Sophia graduated in 2023 with a BSE in Civil & Environmental Engineering. While with MCSI, Sophia led planning and outreach efforts for ScholarCHEF, a novel undergraduate scholar community in the University's David C. Frederick Honors College. This program engages students in concepts of food sustainability and security, with the primary objective of sparking interest and agency within students.
